DUCK HUNTING CHARTERS

How we do it:

We access our duck hunting grounds on public land by boat. Scouting and water levels will help us decide where to hunt for the day, and we’ll meet at the nearest boat ramp accordingly. This will all be settled prior to your hunt.

Once we make the boat ride, the hunt will begin. Read more to find out what you need to know.

What you need to know:

Duck hunting the wetlands of Central Florida begins with a pre-dawn boat ride to the hunting location for the morning. We’ll arrive by boat but hunt on foot, which is why a good pair of waders is necessary. Some spots are farther walks than others, and can be planned according to your preference.

We’ll handle all of the decoy setting and blind building. Hot coffee and water will be provided.

What you should bring:

This depends largely on your experience level and the gear you currently own. For the experienced hunters, you probably already have your gear dialed in. For the newcomers, we’re here to help.

Gear you’ll need to bring: chest waders (preferably uninsulated and breathable), camouflage shirt and/or jacket (depending on weather), shotgun, protective eyewear, and snacks of your choice.

Gear we can/will provide: water (plenty of it), swamp stools/chairs, shells.

We strongly encourage you to bring your own shotgun and shells that you are comfortable shooting. If you cannot bring your own, let us know and we’ll plan accordingly.

A Note on Safety:

Make no mistake, safety is a top priority for us at River Wrangler Outfitters.

Boating Safety:

Our boats are maintained meticulously to ensure that the travel to and from hunting locations is safe and smooth. All safety requirements set by the U.S. Coast Guard are met or exceeded, and we pride ourselves on safe boating operation.

Firearm Safety:

Firearm safety is extremely important and we do not take it lightly. At the beginning of the hunt, we will express our expectations for firearm safety. This includes when it is safe to load your shotgun, how you should conduct yourself while hunting, and following our instructions. You’ll get the same treatment whether you are a seasoned hunter or a first-timer. If you repeatedly fail to meet our expectations for firearm safety, we reserve the right to end the hunt prior to completion of the allotted time without discount or refund. It’s that important to us.
